Donald O. Thompson Jr
Mr. Thompson is the CEO and majority partner of Senior Living Communities (CCRC ownership entity), and the President and owner of Maxwell Group, Inc. (management company) located in Charlotte, NC. Mr. Thompson is also the CEO of Live Long Well Care (home health and rehab services).
Mr. Thompson has been a developer, owner, and manager of CCRC type communities since 1982. He holds a B.S. in Business from the University of North Carolina and resides with his wife and 3 children in Charlotte, NC.
Senior Living Communities currently operates 6 retirement communities with approximately 1,100 existing units plus another 350 units of future expansion. These communities are located in Winston-Salem and Mt. Airy, N.C.; Pawley’s Island and Spartanburg, S.C.; and Amelia Island and Vero Beach, FL. In addition, the company has 3 communities averaging about 400 units each under construction in Myrtle Beach, SC, Viera, FL, and Port St. Lucie, FL.
Senior Living Communities offer a range of lifestyle housing choices from independent living in single family homes, condominiums, and apartments to licensed healthcare in assisted living, dementia care, and skilled nursing homes. The communities are upscale gate house entry campuses on approximately 40 acres.
Live Long Well Care provides home health and rehab services in order to provide a way for people to stay healthier and live a lengthier and higher quality of life in their own homes.
