Melinda Skirvin
Melinda Skirvin has worked in the geriatric field for the past twenty years, as a certified nursing assistant, a licensed practical nurse, a registered nurse, and as an Executive Director. Melinda has a passion for the seniors, inspired by her close relationship with her grandparents. She has worked in several continuing Care Retirement Communities and free standing Assisted Living Communities in the South Florida area. Melinda currently works for Five Star Quality Care, at Park Summit, a large Continuing Care Community, with thirty-five Skilled Nursing Beds, seventy-two Assisted Living Beds, and one hundred and eighty-four Independent Living Apartments. Melinda has spent the last three years at Park Summit, and has shown a strong census, financial growth, and healthy AHCA survey results. Melinda has also experienced low staff turnover, even with the many challenges that South Florida has to offer. Melinda Skirvin has achieved all of this through maintaining an “open door” policy, a “hands-on approach”, and by treating her residents and staff as if they were her own family members.
