Clark Reed
Clark Reed serves as the Director of Healthcare Facilities Division for ENERGY STAR at the US Environmental Protection Agency. As such, he plans, coordinates, and oversees support for EPA’s partnering hospitals. Mr. Reed has delivered ENERGY STAR presentations at the American Society for Healthcare Engineering Annual Conferences and the Planning, Design and Construction conference for the past six years. He also presented at the 2005 and 2006 Healthcare Design conferences. He has over fifteen years’ of experience in the public policy arena and has been working in public service with the EPA since 1997. Mr. Reed also serves on both the Steering Committee for the Green Guide for Health Care and the Application Guide for Healthcare Committee.
Mr. Reed managed EPA’s efforts to establish a national energy performance rating system for acute care hospitals and directed efforts to expand the system to medical office buildings. Mr. Reed writes regularly on energy issues for Inside ASHE magazine, a bi-monthly publication of the American Society for Healthcare Engineering. Mr. Reed has his BA in Economics from the University of Washington and his MA in Environmental Policy from Tufts University.
