Allison D. Guthertz
Ms. Guthertz oversees New Jersey and North Carolina operations as an area vice president of operations for Sunrise Senior Living, Inc. She was named to this position in July 2006. Prior to her current role, Ms. Guthertz served as area manager of operations from January 2003 through June 2006 of New Jersey and New York and as a cluster manager of New Jersey and New York the previous year. Under her leadership the portfolio has shown significant year-over-year financial growth with attention to quality service delivery. Currently her portfolio consists of more than 40 communities in two states, while also assisting in other states in the region.
Ms. Guthertz joined Sunrise in 2000 as an activities coordinator and was promoted to the Executive Director position in 2001, where she led a successful turn around community in Sheepshead Bay, New York. Ms. Guthertz assisted in trouble shooting in a variety of communities until she was promoted in 2003 to area manager.
Having put herself through college while caring for her grandmother, Ms. Guthertz earned a Bachelor of Arts in Gerontology. After graduating, she worked in a non-for-profit long term care facility for the Little Sisters of the Poor, where she began her career in healthcare. Following four years at Queen of Peace, she launched her career at Sunrise Assisted Living while simultaneously working on her MPA in Health Care Administration and minor in Gerontology from C.W.Post in New York.
