Joel Goldman
Joel Goldman is a senior partner at the law firm of Hanson Bridgett, based in San Francisco. He joined the firm in 1980 after receiving his law degree (Order of the Coif) from the University of California at Berkeley. Mr. Goldman is recognized nationally as a leading expert on legal and regulatory issues involving assisted living communities. For more than 25 years, he has advised owners and operators of assisted living communities on wide ranging issues including licensure matters, resident disputes and transfer issues, operational procedures, risk
management, and disability discrimination. Mr. Goldman's clients range
from large, publicly traded national companies, to local and regional providers.
Mr. Goldman is a frequent speaker at assisted living conferences around the county and he has authored numerous articles for state and national publications. In addition, his practical approach to problem solving has made him a popular featured presenter at in-house training programs for assisted living providers. Mr. Goldman is one of the founding members of the California Assisted Living Association and he has served on CALA's Board of Directors since the organization's inception in 1994 (including a term as Board Chair). He also served for many years on the Board of Directors of the National Association For Senior Living Executives and is currently an active member of ALFA's Legal Committee.
