John Bowling, Ph.D.
Dr. John Bowling has focused his professional career on growing people and businesses dedicated to serving older adults. His role as Senior Vice President over Silverado At Home with Silverado Senior Living involves start up business development and operational oversight of all of the Silverado At Home care management and home care branch offices. He has directed growth from startup in 2004 to six offices with annual revenues of approximately $10 million today. Prior to joining Silverado in 1999, Dr. Bowling was a principal partner and clinical director of Advanced Behavioral Care, an organization dedicated to meeting the mental health needs of an elderly population and providing consultative direction to professionals serving seniors.
John earned his Doctorate in Psychology from Texas A&M University. He served as co-editor and author of “Geriatric Residential Care”. He is a frequent presenter at national conferences and serves on the Board of Directors for the National Private Duty Association. He has published in professional journals including “Contemporary Long-term” and “Professional Psychology: Research and Practice”. John has served as instructor and/or adjunct faculty at Texas A&M University, University of Maine, University of Utah, and Westminster College. In a less academic environment, John has worked as a deck boss on commercial fishing boats in Alaska, taught skiing and climbing, and worked as a whitewater river guide around the world. He has two young sons and lives in Mission Viejo.
